Took the bus this morning. Still deciding what I need to do for that vehicale. Let alone the other 870 bucks worth of crap that I need to do for it (all four struts and the other things that need to happen because of it, oil pressure sensor also needs replaced) I have to think about saving up 1,200 to replace the head gasket. So, I'm easily over 2 grand in repairing this car. So do I even both and go back to walking where I need to go until I save up enough for a newer car? No clue. I'm told everything else is fine with the car, other then those mentioned issues.

Not a whole lot. I'm just now getting over from being sick again. I've really been sucking it in the past month and a half--got sick twice. I guess I won't need those flu shots after all. Let alone I feel sketchy about this Swine Flu Vaccine--I'd rather read about it later in the papers then take it.

Tuesday, I went and saw Star Wars In Concert. That was a pretty good experience. It felt really short for me, but maybe not, I looked down at my watch and it added up to be about 2 hours long. They had plenty of lights, lasers, and flames--yeah, fire. I was clear across the Key Arena court and felt that heat. I can assume that those that were in the front rows got the equivalent of sunburns, hehe.

It was nice to take that time to travel Seattle a bit, even though it was brief. I need to make it down there again sometime soon, that's for sure. Though cold weather is coming--I'd say we have about a month before we move into Snow season. So not sure if I can make it again before then. And I hate driving long distances in the winter. I can't drive through snow and ice to save my life >.

Things are pretty quite here for the most part. The first two weeks of the Fall Quarter at work was hell though :P Lots of emergencies that people wanted priority over each other. Though things are now starting to calm down.

The weather is changing over here, the leave on the trees starting to change color as well as the weather getting much cooler. Its been getting in the 50s already at night and the Snow-Line has been going down. I think I may have one or two more opportunities for camping before the season is completely out until May of next year.

I've been looking into a new costume this year, and I think I came up with something that should be fun. I'll take pictures and set them up.

Not much else now. Just very busy with work and have been trying to develop more 'me' time.

Things have been quiet here lately. Well, work has been getting pretty hellish, but that's how it gets just before the Fall quarter. Faculty arrive after taking summer off--they forget their User accounts, realize something is missing from their computer (that they probably deleted just before the left in the first place) and I got to fix it.

Tried to go camping the weekend before Labor Day, parks were packed within an hour drive radius around me :P Labor Day didn't have a prayer. I spent Labor Day walking laps up and down the coast. Was a real uneventful weekend, but I suppose that's good.

Not much else to say right now other then getting over the flu. :P

That was a first timer.

I've lived in Bellingham since 2005 and Saturday was the first time ever they asked to look through my bag for 'contraband'. Can they do that?? For those that know me personally, I carry a book bag with me wherever I go. I usually have a note pad, a book, a camera, and a few other oddities I may need or want to utilize while I'm sitting idle. I've always walked into movie theaters with my bag on and was never given a second glance until Saturday. They said they wanted to make sure I wasn't bringing in any outside food or cameras.

I can understand you can be halted if you're walking in with a K-mart shopping bag with a big bag of M&Ms pressed up against the clear plastic, but a book bag? What about purses then? Or people with camera phones? Hell, when winter comes around and people are wearing jackets, are they going to have a good rubdown before walking into the theater?

I normally don't pull out my Veterans Disability Card very often at all. But I think I'll do it this time. I happened to be browsing through Washington Veterans benifits and stumbled upon a particular one. If a veteran is 30% or more disabled with service related injuries, he is entitled to a Life-time Washinton State Park Pass. O.O Ok, so I got all my information together and I'm going to mail in the application tomorrow.

Free camping/moorage, campsite reservations through State Parks central reservations system, watercraft launching, trailer dump. Valid year-round. Offered to Washington state residents with a documented service-connected disability of at least 30 percent."

Planning on a nice long event next summer. I'll give myself a year to train and get ready for it. A few of us individuals have decided to do a backpacking trip through the Cascades, a total of 88 miles from the Canadian boarder and down south. The trail is going to climb and descend between 10,000 feet or so. I think it's going to be a 8 or 9 day trip of just living out of what's on your back.

It just occurred to me. I was watching a commercial for Broadview Security; it's a home alarm system. Every commercial I ever saw from it has always had a female alone in the home. Then some mysterious guy kicks in the door or breaks a window, causing the alarm to go off, which makes him run off. Of course the female is in the line of sight of this act so she screams and runs away to a far off room or upstairs and cowers as the phone suddenly rings. She picks it up and it's the Broadview operator asking, "Is everything alright!? We detected a breach in your home." And she'd respond in a shaky voice from shock, "No, someone just tried to break into my home." And he replies, “Ok, we’re notifying the police and sending someone over right away.” And that is that. Quick response, eh?

Just once...Just once! I want to see a commercial of a guy doing the same exact thing. Giving a scream and running his ass up the stairs to hide. That would make my night *laughs*

On a more political note. Not all females would run up the stairs….I know one or two that pack. >.>

It just amuses me. Disney is coming out with a new Alice in Wonderland live-action movie. And Tim Burton is the man to bring it to you. As I was watching the preview, I mused myself with, "Hehe, I wonder where Johnny Depp is going to jump in..." And sure enough, there he was...the Mad Hatter. I swear, those two are hand in hand. If it's a movie with Johnny in it, Tim may have directed it. If Tim is directing a movie, Johnny is in it. I swear Tim calls Depp every time he's about to put something out.

I got this email recently concerning Obama's proposal for Healthcare concerning us Veterans. I have heard of this proposal before and I certainly don't like it. But this is what the email further states. I have no idea if the 'statement' in there really is from Obama or not, but in this, I'm realy disappointed in him.

Yeah. That's just fucked up if that's truly what he said. But regardless, hands off, Obama. It doesn't matter if we had volunteered or not. We earned it. We volunteered what many would not willfully do. If anything, I would purpose that all vets should never have to pay taxes again and have full medical. But that'll never happen. At the very least, hands off of our Healthcare, Mr. President.

But probably shouldn't get too worked up about it. Something this absurd will never pass.

Ok, we had a server that crapped out last week on Wed. Apparently, it needs a new motherboard (from what the vender can tell over the phone). We pay a big price for customer server--particularly 'next day delivery'. So we ordered someone to physically bring a motherboard over and a tech to install it themselves. I've got allot to do, so if we can get the extra hand to deal with the server for install, I'm ok with that. Otherwise, I'm happy to do it myself.

So, campus was closed on Friday. During the summer months, campus usually is only open for half the day, but allot of people are not in anyway. I sat around from 7am to 5pm for an tech guy that never arrived. Never heard the phone ring, never saw a message left. So I called the vender this morning. I told them that I sat around with my thumb up my ass for 9 hours and no phone call. The tech never arrived and I never got any message as to what happened.

So the customer support guy looks up on the records and says, "well, it's written down that he tried to contact you but couldn't get a response." So I asked, "On the phone number provided right?" he replied, "Yes." "Ok. I show no signs of a missed call or any voice mail." he sounded a little defensive when he replied, "Well, it says he did, I'm not sure if he had left a message or not." And I came back with, "Well, we have a special system here. We no longer do analog phones, instead we use IP phones. I can pull up a log of every incoming call on Friday and if said person only let the phone ring two times before hanging up." Hehe, there was a long pause after that statement. "Um...I do apologize for on behalf of (enter vender name) and we will get a tech back out to you as soon as possible." And I responded, "That's fine. But to let you know, we do pay for the next day delivery. So that means the tech should be here...2 days ago." He apologized again and assured me that someone would be out here. Well...I feel there's another ass chewing in order once the tech arrives. All I need to know is if he was the same guy that was on call for Friday that never showed up. *rubs his hands* I will have my compensation.

Had a very productive weekend, I'd have to say. Had a jackal friend up here who spend the weekend with me. We went hiking allot of the time through the trails at Sehome and a few Geocaches--need to do that more often, its pretty fun. And of course, we ate all you can eat Indian food downtown.

I wanted to brew some beer this weekend too, but this apartment was so hot. Being that this place doesn't have any AC I think boiling 3 gallons of water for 2 hours would have killed us both. I've really wanted to brew these two batches of ale for some time.

Sage IPA (Well, not sage, but Mugwort. it's supposed to give a Sage aroma to the ale.)

I wanted to get those done so I can get an early start on my other ideas. I nice spiced pumpkin ale for Halloween…wanna name it "Pumpkin King" and a Wassail ale for the Yule season.

Got an email today concerning my car. Someone's interested in having a look at it. So we're schedually a time for him to take a look at it over the weekend. I really hope he doesn't try to low-ball me on it. Someone tried to before:

Person: "I'll give you 100 bucks for it."

Me: "I can scrap it for at least 300."

Person: "Ok, probably best that you do that then. That's a shame."

I'm only asking 500 for it, which is way less then what I think I can get for it--even though the seals in the engine are bad. But I do need to get it sold.

Well...it may be too early for me to try and get a place. But with prices and location, this may be the best place to get one.
